Nottingham Forest are expected to offer £20m to Santos when the transfer market opens next summer for Brazilian right winger Angelo Jr.
Since the club’s return to the Premier League last summer, Nottingham Forest have been keen to recruit Brazilians. With Felipe, Renan Lodi, Gustavo Scarpa and Danilo, the club have four in their squad. And it seems that Steve Cooper would like to bring another one into his squad.
According to Turkish journalist Ekrem Konur, Nottingham Forest are expected to return to the transfer market next summer for Santos FC’s young Brazilian right winger Angelo Jr. The club tried to sign him last summer but were turned down several times by Santos. The last attempt appeared to be a loan offer with a compulsory £20m purchase option at the end of the season.
Nottingham Forest really need to strengthen in attack. The club have scored just 18 Premier League goals this season, which ranks them 18th worst in the English top flight. Steve Cooper is struggling to find the attacking solutions to score more goals, but he is also not helped by the string of injuries that have befallen Nottingham Forest. Taiwo Awoniyi, the usual starter at the top of the attack, has not played since 4 January due to a serious injury. Getting more attacking options for next season appears to be one of the priorities to strengthen the squad for next season.
Angelo Jr is only 18 years old but already has a lot of experience of professional football in Brazil. He has already played almost 96 games as a professional and impresses with his talent.
