Nottingham Forest are reportedly interested in Inter Milan players Robin Gosens and Joaquin Correa as they look to strengthen their squad this summer.
Having managed to stay in the Premier League despite being widely tipped to drop down to the Championship, Nottingham Forest now want to stabilise in the top flight and need to strengthen their squad to do so. A number of players have already been linked with a move to the City Ground, and the list of potential targets for Steve Cooper and his staff is set to grow throughout the summer.
The latest reports suggest that Nottingham Forest are interested in two Inter Milan stars: Robin Gosens and Joaquin Correa. Two attractive names with a fairly high profile. Some may question Nottingham Forest’s ability to attract such high-profile players, but arrivals at the City Ground this season such as Keylor Navas, Renan Lodi and Felipe prove that the prospect of players playing in the Premier League makes Nottingham Forest an attractive destination.
Robin Gosens is a German left-back who made his name mainly through his performances for Atalanta Bergamo. Since moving to Inter Milan in January 2022, his performances have been slightly weaker and he has struggled to adapt to Serie A. Inter Milan seem keen to part company with him and replace him with Nottingham Forest target Carlos Augusto. According to Inter Milan media outlet FcInterNewIt, Nottingham Forest are among the clubs interested in signing the German left-back, alongside Union Berlin, Bournemouth and Wolfsburg. Inter Milan are said to be willing to let him go if they receive an offer of around £12.9m.
The second player in whom Nottingham Forest are said to be interested should be treated with caution. According to Spazio Inter, it is Joaquin Correa. The Argentinian striker is a very attractive prospect for strengthening Forest’s attacking line. Like Robin Gosens, his time at Inter Milan has been somewhat less successful than his performances for previous clubs such as Lazio and Sevilla. In 77 games with the last Champions League finalists, he scored ten goals and provided three assists. Recently, he has been starting less and less, but when he does, he often lines up as a striker alongside Romelu Lukaku. According to the report, Inter Milan are open to letting the player leave on loan with an option to buy. A very attractive financial option for Nottingham Forest, who have already used it with Renan Lodi, although the club have finally decided not to activate it in an attempt to reduce the cost of a possible permanent move for the Brazilian left-back.
