Nottingham Forest are determined to keep hold of Brennan Johnson, despite interest from a number of Premier League clubs.
Brennan Johnson is one of Nottingham Forest fans’ favourite players. Under the influence of Steve Cooper, the Welsh winger has become one of Forest’s most successful players. In his first full season at the club last term, he played 49 Championship games, scoring 18 goals and providing 10 assists. He made a major contribution to Nottingham Forest’s promotion to the Premier League at the end of the season.
For his first year in the Premier League, he had some tougher time, even starting two of the last three games of the season from the bench. Despite this, his attacking contribution was crucial at Nottingham Forest, where he scored eight goals and provided three assists in 38 Premier League games.
His performances have not gone unnoticed, with West Ham and Everton interested in signing him this summer. Nottingham Forest value their player at £40m. Brennan Johnson extended his contract at the City Ground last summer on a deal that runs until June 2026.
However, Footy Insider (link to article) reveals that Nottingham Forest are keen to keep Brennan Johnson at the club this summer and that getting a deal done to sign him will be “very complicated”. Steve Cooper wants to build his team around the Welshman and has no intention of parting with him.
