Nottingham Forest have been linked with a move to sign Manchester United’s English right winger, who appears to be out of favor with Erik Ten Hag at Old Trafford.
What a surprising news! According to Samuel Luckhurst of Manchester Evening News, Nottingham Forest is one of the clubs named as a potential destination for Jadon Sancho, should he leave Manchester United next winter. The England right-winger seems to be increasingly open to a move, following the controversy between him and his coach, Erik Ten Hag.
The link with Nottingham Forest may seem surprising, but it could also be quite logical. Forest are becoming increasingly ambitious, and showed this this summer with a number of high-profile signings, including Ibrahim Sangaré and Callum Hudson-Odoi. Jadon Sancho is also close to Steve Cooper, who coached him with England U17s. A return to his former coach could be a prospect Sancho would relish.
Currently, Jadon Sancho is valued at around £39m by specialist website Transfermarkt. A hefty sum, but one that Nottingham Forest are no longer afraid to spend, having recruited Ibrahim Sangaré for around £35m this summer. Borussia Dortmund has also been mentioned as a potential destination. It is also said that a move to Saudi Arabia would not really tempt the player.
Jadon Sancho could be a superb replacement for Brennan Johnson at the City Ground. Although Callum Hudson-Odoi has joined the club and can, numerically speaking, take the place of the Welsh right winger, Nottingham Forest are still slightly short of options in this position and the recruitment of an international star like Jadon Sancho could allow Nottingham Forest to continue their transition to a new galaxy.
