Steve Cooper has announced that Dean Henderson is not close to returning from injury and that the date of his return is not known.
Dean Henderson’s return from injury is one of the most eagerly awaited returns from injury for Nottingham Forest fans. The on-loan Manchester United goalkeeper was injured in the 2-0 win over Leicester on 14 January and has not played a single minute of football this season since. Even if Keylor Navas, who was brought in during the winter transfer window to replace him, performs well, a return close to Dean is hoped for by the fans, even if it will turn into an ordeal for Steve Cooper to know which goalkeeper should start in the Forest net.
Recently, Steve Cooper announced that Dean Henderson was due to return to training soon. However, he has now announced at a press conference that the date of the keeper’s return is still unknown:
“He’s not back in training. He’s not really any closer. He’s still in the medical room, unfortunately, so we’ll see where that takes us in the next week or so.
I hope he will play again this season, but I don’t know, to be honest. It’s a bit inconclusive on that, so we’ll see.
He’s had a small setback, in terms of his recovery, but he is working hard. He’s frustrated, as you can imagine. Let’s see when he’s ready to come back.”
