Chelsea – Nottingham Forest : predicted line-up

Nottingham Forest travel to Stamford Bridge on Saturday to take on Chelsea at 3pm on Matchday 36 of the Premier League. Here’s a look at Steve Cooper’s likely line-up for the game.

Few changes are expected to be made to the side that beat Southampton on Monday.

Keylor Navas
The Costa Rican goalkeeper conceded three goals against Southampton but couldn’t do much about it. His experience against the big teams could be very useful for the Reds against the Blues.

Renan Lodi
Renan Lodi had a decent game against Southampton and should definitely be lined up by Steve Cooper at Stamford Bridge.

The Brazilian defender put in a scintillating performance against the Saints. He could even have been rewarded with a goal which was eventually disallowed for offside. His starting place should logically be assured.

Moussa Niakhaté
Like Felipe, Moussa Niakhaté put in a good performance on Monday night and seems, as the game goes on, to be a quality pair with the Brazilian defender. We can therefore logically expect Steve Cooper to field this centre-back pair again.

Serge Aurier
The Ivorian full-back went off injured in the 64th minute on Monday night but looks set to be part of the London trip. A miraculous quick return from injury for him? If not, Joe Worrall could be lined up as a right-back, as he was on Monday, when he was quite good.

Orel Mangala
The Belgian was excellent against Southampton. He’s becoming a fan favourite and Steve Cooper would do well to start him against Chelsea to take advantage of his midfield’s current form.

The young Brazilian was doubtful to play against Southampton but he finally managed to start the game and score another goal (his third in three games). If the Brazilian continues his good form, he will be one of the key men in Forest’s end of the season.

Ryan Yates
The Forest captain made his comeback by coming on as a late substitute against Brentford a fortnight ago and so started against Southampton. He put in a pretty decent performance, although not everything was perfect. The few remaining games should allow him to find his level before starting next season.

Morgan Gibbs-White
He was brilliant against Southampton. He scored from a penalty and provided an incredible assist on Danilo’s goal. If he can keep up the momentum, he could do wonders against Chelsea.

Taiwo Awoniyi
Taiwo Awoniyi had not scored since January 4 before Monday’s game. He seemed to have missed scoring as he scored a magnificent double against the Saints. Let’s hope his return to form continues and that the Nigerian finds the net again this weekend.

Brennan Johnson
Brennan Johnson put in a big performance on Monday night. He was very effective in his decision-making and was often dangerous. He also provided a fine assist for Taiwo Awoniyi’s first goal and won the penalty converted by Morgan Gibbs-White. While his performances have been questioned in recent weeks, it seems the Welshman is keen to finish the season well.

Predicted XI: Navas – Lodi, Felipe, Niakhaté, Aurier – Mangala, Danilo, Yates – Gibbs-White – Awoniyi, Johnson.
